Honors Proficent Visual Arts

Honors Proficient Visual Arts

1 Semester

Prerequisite: Intermediate Art II and Teacher Approval

Honors students are expected to be self-motivated, artistically and academically driven and have an interest in pursuing AP Credit, a college degree in art or in a similar creative field and or a career in the arts. In Proficient Visual Arts, students should be able to work on their art at a much higher standard then in previous levels. Artists are expected to place great thought and skill in their work. They must have the ability to look critically at both their own and other's work and be able to speak about their findings in an intelligent manner. Proficient Visual art Students need to be self-motivated and be willing to take criticism and apply changes to their work based on the criticism of their teacher and peers.

Students will need to join our class in Google Classroom. This will have all the information and notes for all their units throughout the year. They will be responsible for reading, watching note-taking and participating in Google classroom at home and occasionally in class. It's highly recommended that parents join Google Classroom so they can keep track of assignments and notes. While Google Classroom has a grading option in it's assignments,  it will not be an accurate way to evaluate  progress. Please keep track of your student's progress using Powerschool.
