"One man's junk is another man's treasure."
This is a list of just some of the things the Rolesville Visual Arts Department and my classroom can use.
We appreciate all donations!
Tables
Old Newspapers, Magazines & Books

Old magazines with photos are always needed to inspire students and give them great references for a variety of subjects. National Geographic magazines are the best but any magazines with photos on almost any subject are welcomed.
Newspapers are great for covering of tables for painting and as material for paper mache.

Art Supplies-- Old, new & gently used...

Any and all art supplies are always welcomed in the art room and are always in demand. Acrylic paint, colored pencils and paper of all sort are always wanted, even house paint and supplies. There is really not much we turn down!
Things

I find it hard at times to explain this request. Every art room needs things. Your unwanted junk, old rusty objects found outback, stain table clothes, old jewelry, broken old toys bicycles and other things are perfect for still-life drawing and even for found object sculptures. So before you throw it away think to yourself would this be interesting to draw and if you hesitate then the answer is probably yes!
Frames

“If I spit, they will take my spit and frame it as great art.” Pablo Picasso
A little crass but it is amazing what a frame does for a piece of art. Frames are expensive though. All types of frames are appreciated; from old wooden ones to plastic poster frames.

Mannequins, Skeletons and Ecorches

The human figure has been the subject of mankind's artwork since man has made art and continues to be a prominent subject matter. We use Mannequins, skeletons and ecorche to study the human form and to reproduce the form in both 2D and 3D works.
