Jacob Assignments:

All of Jacob's assignments should be completed in his sketchbook and modified to suit his choice of materials.

2nd Quarter Assignments
1. Figure Drawing Unit
a. Gesture Drawing
A gesture drawing is a laying in of the action, form, and pose of a model/figure. Typical situations involve an artist drawing a series of poses taken by a model in a short amount of time, often as little as 10 seconds, or as long as 5 minutes.

Watch the following video:
youtu.be/xmiwGm32dXU
You do not have to watch the whole video and can reference back to it.
Jacob should try his best to find the gesture of the pose in the quickest time possible
Pose 3 different poses for Jacob for 30 secs each.day you work on this unit. Have Jacob use a color or a soft lead pencil.
He can use both sides of the paper for this assignment and do multiple gestures on one page (change colors)

Tips:
Start at the top of the page
look for the curvature of the torso and limbs
Details of the clothes are not needed
